p-[[p-[ethyl(2-hydroxyethyl)amino]phenyl]azo]benzenesulphonamide (corresponding to the Chinese name p-[[p-[ethyl(2-hydroxyethyl)) amino]phenyl]azo] benzenesulfonamide) is a compound whose main characteristics are as follows:
Nature:
-Appearance is dark red crystalline powder or crystal.
-Soluble in chlorinated hydrocarbons, dimethyl sulfoxide and ether.
-It can have a brilliant red spectral absorption peak in the solution.
Use:
- p-[[p-[ethyl(2-hydroxyethyl)amino]phenyl]azo] benzensulphonamide is used as a meta-indicative reagent in organic synthesis.
-It is commonly used to determine the concentration of nitro compounds and detect mutant genes.
Method:
- p-[[p-[ethyl(2-hydroxyethyl)amino]phenyl]azo]benzenesulphonamide can be prepared by the coupling reaction of benzene sulfonamide and appropriate iminophenol or aniline.
-First react benzenesulfonamide with iminophenol or aniline, and then undergo esterification to produce p-[[p-[ethyl(2-hydroxyethyl)amino] phenol] azo]benzenesulphonamide.
Safety Information:
- p-[[p-[ethyl(2-hydroxyethyl)amino]phenyl]azo] benzensulphonamide is less toxic, but it is still necessary to pay attention to safe operation.
-Avoid inhalation or contact with the compound, especially contact with eyes and skin.
-Wear appropriate protective gloves and glasses when using.
-When handling the compound, it should be operated in a well-ventilated area.
